MEET VENA
All great masterpieces start out as a thoughts which eventually ignites ideas and if you are fortunate enough, those ideas will manifest into your reality.
Peace ya’ll! I am Vena J., the Mama and Host of The Konfession Korner Podcast. I was compelled to create this wellness space to give Black artists, creatives and influencers an opportunity to openly share their vulnerabilities, delving into not just their artistry but also engaging in meaningful discussions about mental health and self-discovery.
My journey towards creating safe spaces for open conversations began during my freshman year at Morgan State University. Initially studying Psychology with aspirations of becoming a psychologist, I soon realized it did not align with my expectations. Transitioning to Social Work, I fell in love with the major and graduated with my Bachelor's in 2019, followed by my Master's in 2020 and then later received my LMSW. As a Black woman, I'm honored to highlight the humanity and rawness of Black experiences through The Konfession Korner Podcast, providing a platform for authentic and vulnerable viewpoints.
Appreciating Black artists, creatives and influencers is crucial in recognizing the richness and diversity they bring to our cultural landscape. Art, in its diverse expressions, serves as a powerful medium that fosters empathy, connection, and understanding within communities. By honoring the humanity of these creators and appreciating their distinct talents and life experiences, we must embrace the diversity of voices and narratives that inspire, uplift, and challenge us. Without them, we would lose access to the dynamic range of creativity that elevates and profoundly impacts us.
Creating The Konfession Korner Podcast is incredibly meaningful, as it provides a platform for Black creatives to authentically share their experiences and perspectives, amplifying their voices in a raw and vulnerable manner.
